SWPL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Buena Park FCs Gustavo Mejia

LA MIRADA, CA (October 2, 2024) – Buena Park FC forward Gustavo Mejia has been selected SWPL Player of the Week.

Mejia scored with his left foot, his right foot and his head and finished with four goals as Buena Park FC defeated Olympiacos CA 7-0 in a SoCal Premier League 1st Division season opener at Portola Springs Community Park in Irvine on Sunday, Sept. 29.

A native of Southern California, Mejia was a four-year varsity captain at Cypress High School and graduated from Marymount California University (NAIA). He previously played for La Maquina FC and Anaheim Legacy FC.

The SWPL Player of the Week is selected from nominations from league members.
